- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Equipment:

- 1 — Small fork
- 1 — Spoon
- 1 — 1 Teaspoon Measure
- 1 — 1 Tablespoon Measure
- 1 — ¼ cup Measure
- 1 — ½ cup Measure
- 1 — 1 cup Measure
- 2 — Baking Sheets
(foil-lined and greased)
- Cream with fork:
- ¼ cup — Butter
- ¼ cup — Sugar
- ¼ cup — Brown Sugar
- Beat in with fork:
- Stir in with spoon:
- 2 Tbs — Maple Syrup
- 1 tsp — Vanilla Extract
- ½ cup — Bran Buds
- Cover with all five ingredients, in this order, then mix:
- 1 cup — Whole-wheat Flour
- 1 tsp — Baking Soda
- 1 tsp — Baking Powder
- 1 cup — Oatmeal
- ½ cup — Oat Bran
- Stir in:
- Bake:
- 24 small (or 12 large) cookies
- 350°F
- 15 minutes
- Cool:

Because of the relatively low fat and sugar content,
these cookies spread out very little while cooking,
so you must shape and flatten them by hand first.

Different textures can be achieved by using rolled oats,
steel-cut oats, or a combination thereof.

they are best served reheated (e.g. microwave for a few seconds).
